Tiptoe...Through The Tulips...and Mother's Day...still tiptoeing...

My, what a week we've had. Last Saturday was the Muziekparade and finale of Tulip Time in Holland. I did my part as a good half-Dutch mother, and dressed Paige in a Voldendam-style dress and hat. We didn't get to do pictures by Centennial Park or on Windmill Island, but there were some beautiful tulips (let's face it, you don't have to go far to find them in Holland) right behind the spot where we sat on 8th Street for the parade. We had a great time, the weather cooperated for a couple of hours, and Paige even napped through a few of the marching bands.

Sunday, Mother's Day, was also Grandma Parrott's birthday! We were able to celebrate with her as well as the entire family. My first Mother's Day was a nice one, as we stopped at a few greenhouses on the way home to pick up flowers for the house, and even stopped for ice cream. I got some super cute gifts from a favorite local store of mine, too! But of course, the best part was snuggling with my two favorite people at the end of the day.

(Paige actually wrapped her arms around little cousin Maycie, but then began trying to suck on the side of her head.)

On to Tuesday! Uncle Jim and Aunt Lorna came allllllll the way from da U.P. to visit their troll relatives. We had a great time with them, and it was just warm enough to eat outside and enjoy some sun. We even sat Paige on the grass for the first time with bare legs...she bounced back and forth so much while laughing that she scored a few grass stains on her bottom!

And here it is, the end of another week...and Paige is 8 months old. Of all the advice I've received, no one has taught me how to make time slow down. Why is that?
