Catching Up

Sorry again for the delinquency of our blog...even though the due date is very close, it just doesn't seem that there's much to update! We've just been blessed with a very ho-hum, healthy pregnancy--just the normal backaches, not sleeping well, heartburn, slightly swollen feet (I think that's just describing me, but could be Matt once & a while). We're now closing in on 38 weeks, so we're well into what's considered full-term. As you can see, I never got a very big belly (so some people say), but she still measures to date and lets me know quite frequently just how much space she occupies!

The baby showers are now complete, and we feel so incredibly blessed...I think we have more thank-yous to write than when we got married! These pics are from the showers thrown by my work friends at Regina's, Ski Patrol (Matt's on Patrol @ Cannonsburg, for those who don't know), and Haylie & Hillarie in Holland. Let me tell you, we've played some great games...from guessing baby parts on ultrasounds (of course the nurses had that one--and I got every one right!), to "Breaking the Water (balloon)", even crafting babies from Play-Doh, from which I picked the cutest and not-so-cutest as winners.

  1. look at you and all the fun times at your showers. I can't wait to meet this little bundle of joy. Just look at all the cool stuff you are getting.

  3. My advice if you want it;
    Get on a schedule as soon as possible and stick to it but also be a little flexible. I know its kinda weird but you will soon see. I suggest reading Baby Wise. I was so glad we did, it really helped.
    Also just know that the first 6 to 8 weeks will be hellish but it will get better. Just keep saying to yourself, 'this too will pass.' But you will NEVER sleep like you did before baby. It just won't happen. Sorry.
    And remember, blogsville is full of mom's who have been there and done that. Don't be afraid to escape for a little while and maybe even write about your struggles, it really helps with the coping.
    Thats me 2 scents, take it for what its worth.
